Letter From the Rileys – December 2024

Merry Christmas!

With the fluctuating weather, it’s hard to believe Christmas is literally around the corner and 2024 is coming to an end!  We have so much to be grateful for this past year and while we had struggles in the vineyards with the pesty Japanese Beatles, Frosts, pesty critters, and other things, we were able to overcome and move forward with the help of partnering vineyards across the state to supply us with grapes.

We have several wines in the tanks and barrels that we look forward to releasing throughout 2025.  In fact, one of the big projects we have to do while our tasting room is closed for the month of January is to bottle!  Most of the wines are finishing at the same time so we are partnering with a Mobile Bottler to help us get them all bottled!  We will release them throughout the year with our Wine Club getting 2 releases of the new wines and an opportunity to try them at our release parties.

Speaking of Wine Club—we are at 50 members so we are going to freeze our membership for additional members for the time being.  We want to tweak the program and fine tune it after the first year.  If you haven’t joined and are interested, stay tuned for when we open up the membership again!

We are excited about all of the events we have in store at and with Shamrock Hills Vineyard and Winery for 2025 including a Valentine’s Wine Dinner, a ticketed St. Patty’s Day Event, a trip to Ireland, Wine Festivals, and of course our Irish Festival that we’ve locked in and are excited to grow it to become an annual event for Excelsior Springs, MO.

We are blessed with all of the partnerships we created this past year:  816 Bake House; Miller Cabinets; the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce and Trolley; Manley Home Team-Re/Max; Melissa Bartlett and Reece Nichols; Excelsior Springs Community Center; Excelsior Springs Downtown Partnership; Donnici’s Deli; the Springs Restaurant; Willow Springs Mercantile; our neighboring wineries-VanTill Family Farms and Fence Stile Winery; Missouri Wines and Uncorked; the Atlas; Itchin’ to go Travel; Excelsior Citizen; Morgansites; Excelsior Springs Job Corps, and the list continues to grow!  We are excited to continue to grow our partnerships in 2025 and beyond.

So here’s to a blessed Christmas season as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior and make memories with family and friends and here’s to 2025 and all that is to come, may it be a joyous and a year of celebration for you and your family!

Nollaig Chridheil!

(Merry Christmas in Gaelic)
